About

    About BytesByBytes

BytesByBytes is where I document things I build, break, debug and learn. Most posts start as a problem I hit on a real project - a device that will not stay connected, a pipeline that quietly drops rows, a model that runs fine on a laptop and falls over on a microcontroller - and end up as notes I wish I had found when I started.

Topics include software development, AI, data engineering, mobile applications, embedded systems and edge computing. Some articles are deep dives. Some are short notes. All of them are things I have actually run.

    What you will find here

    • Investigations into behaviour that is under-documented or easy to get wrong.
    • Tutorials with code you can copy, run and adapt.
    • Experiments - including the ones that did not work out.
    • Notes on tooling that made a real difference to my day.

    Who writes it

I am Gourav Pradhan, a developer in Bengaluru working at Ambient Scientific on edge AI.

What I am working on right now

    • Getting models to run on hardware with a power budget in milliwatts, not watts.
    • Shrinking models - quantization, memory arenas - without quietly losing accuracy.
    • Keeping the data and telemetry around those models honest.

Most of what I write comes straight out of that work. LinkedIn is the easiest way to reach me.
